Intro to Assisting

  • The Performance Garage 1515 Brandywine Street Philadelphia, PA, 19130 United States (map)

Learn how to assist from the ground up as a new yoga teacher (or if you need a refresher!). Learn safe and ethical assists by learning some foundations, having body and energetic awareness with every person you assist, through practice amongst fellow yoga teachers. In this 90 minute workshop, Jung Kim (E-RYT 500, YACEP) will review the foundations of assisting, demo some introductory assists, and calibrate by practicing on different bodies in different shapes.

In this workshop, we will:

  • Review what assisting in yoga entails in current pulse of the yoga community

  • Introduce and review foundational assists to start your assisting toolkit

  • View demos of assists and practice with different shapes, bodies, and poses

You’ll leave with:

  • An opportunity to continue cultivating a relationship with assisting in yoga classes

  • Expand your teaching toolkit with yoga assisting as a teacher

  • A workshop format to practice assisting in a safe space with other learners to continue learning how to calibrate the art of human touch

This workshop will offer 1.5 CEUs. This workshop is part of our 200-Hour Teacher Training and is designed for yoga teachers or anyone who is interested in expanding their yoga knowledge and skillset.

Price: $45, or $100 for both assisting workshops
