It's that time of year again! Embrace the holiday season with intention, mindfulness, and connection! Our annual Holidays in the Habit challenge is a wonderful way to weave service, kindness, self-care, and community into your daily routine.
The Challenge: From 12/1 - 12/31 rack up as many points as possible by taking classes, bringing friends, sharing us on social, buying retail items, and donating coats for our winter coat drive.

A History of Yoga: Part I
Join us for the first of two sessions in our A History of Yoga series. This workshop traces the evolution of yoga across more than 5,000 years and invites you to discover how this ancient tradition can deepen and transform your modern practice.
Expect to explore yoga’s earliest roots in the Vedas and Upanishads, the development of the subtle body, the rise of the Bhagavad Gita and its four classical paths, and the emergence of foundational texts like Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. You’ll also learn how yoga evolved alongside Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.
More than a historical overview, this workshop invites you to reflect on what yoga means, how its philosophical roots can support your personal practice, and how understanding its lineage can help you show up more thoughtfully for yourself and your students.

Intro to Anatomy: Bones, Joints, and Muscles
This clear, accessible workshop is designed to help yoga teachers understand the body as an interconnected ecosystem and to give you the confidence to bring anatomical awareness into your practice and teaching. Rather than overwhelming you with medical-level detail, this session offers a simplified, purposeful “Anatomy 101 for a yoga context” introducing the structure and function of bones, joints, and muscles, the major movements of the spine, pelvis, shoulder, and hips, and the foundational principles behind stability, mobility, and joint health.
Through guided awareness practices, body meditation, and opportunities to feel anatomical concepts directly in your own posture and breath, you’ll begin developing mind-body connection and the ability to sense movement patterns, understand where effort is needed, and move with greater clarity and efficiency. You’ll leave with a grounded understanding of the body’s architecture, a deeper mind–body connection, and practical tools you can apply immediately on the mat.

A History of Yoga: Part II
Join us for Part II of our A History of Yoga series—a 90-minute, story-rich workshop that traces how yoga transformed from an ancient meditative discipline into the global movement we know now.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how modern yoga took shape and why so many contemporary styles trace back to T. Krishnamacharya. You’ll learn how Hatha Yoga originally emerged, what early asana practice truly looked like, and how yoga first reached the West through influential teachers like Vivekananda and Yogananda. We’ll also look at the origins of vinyasa and the major modern lineages shaped by key modern teachers. By understanding how yoga has evolved across cultures and generations, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the tradition behind your own practice.

Flourishing in 2026: A Yoga and Positive Psych Practice for the New Year
January 1 isn’t the only time to start anew. Wherever you find yourself this late January 2026, this workshop will help you cultivate existing strengths and develop specific skills that will support flourishing through the year ahead. We’ll start with a 45-minute flow to cultivate positive emotions and space for reflection, connecting opening in your body with opening in your heart and mind. We’ll spend another 45 minutes using the science of flourishing to set intentions and goals for the new year. This includes journaling, positive psychology interventions, and a science-informed implementation plan.

Find Your Voice
How do you know what type of yoga teacher you’d like to be? What is the best way to express your voice, and how do you find it in the first place? Join Jung Kim (E-RYT 500, YACEP) to continue the life-long journey of finding your own voice as a yoga teacher. In this workshop, we’ll go over foundational basics of voice projection, as well as dip your toes into the journey of finding your developing voice as a yoga instructor.
In this workshop, we will:
Briefly review breath and projection with practical tips on projecting volume in a class
Review what ‘authentic voice’ means to you and how you apply this to your own development journey as a teacher
Understand your natural teaching style with some quick reflections + some confidence techniques
You’ll leave with:
Group-supported exercises for voice projection that you can take with you in your teaching journey
Start to learn what you want to cultivate going forward as you start or continue your teaching journey

Intro to Anatomy: The Spine - Axial and Rotational Movement
This is a practical, movement-centered workshop designed to help you understand how the spine is built, how it moves, and how to support its health through yoga. We’ll begin with a quick anatomical review, the key joint actions that shape our movement, and the structure of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and pelvic regions, before diving into the four primary spinal movements: flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and rotation. From there, you’ll explore how facet joints and spinal discs work together to create both stability and mobility, why movement is essential for disc health, and how different regions of the spine are designed for different types of motion. A major focus of this module is axial extension: the art of lengthening the spine along its central axis to integrate the curves, strengthen the postural muscles, and create space for all movement. Lastly, the workshop will explore rotational movement in yoga and how each segment of the spine has a different relationship with rotational movement which impacts how you move in your postures.
Throughout the session, you’ll get hands-on opportunities to sense, feel, and map these concepts in your own body. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how the spine functions and how to teach and practice spinal movements with thoughtfulness.

Alignment and Cueing
In this workshop, new yoga teachers will learn the essential, foundational skills needed to begin cueing with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Focusing on the very beginning stages of cueing, this workshop breaks down alignment in a simple, digestible way and teaches participants how to truly look at the body to understand what to say. Through exploring lines of energy, practicing point-to-point cueing, and learning the difference between essential and non-essential language, teachers will build a strong baseline that supports grounded, clear, and effective instruction.
With interactive activities, group work, and practical communication techniques, participants will leave with a reliable cueing “tool belt” and a solid framework they can continue to grow from as their teaching evolves. This workshop gives new instructors the confidence to communicate clearly, guide students into aligned and embodied movement, and build a meaningful, sustainable foundation to come back to for years to come.

Thanks + Giving Community Flow

This Thanksgiving, join us for a 60 minute, sweaty, feel good, donation-based power flow set to music with Tim Wagner.
All proceeds from class will be donated to Project HOME, a local non-profit empowering adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Project HOME achieves its mission through street outreach, supplying supportive housing, providing employment opportunities, adult and youth education, and health care.

Yoga at the Art Museum Steps!
Join us on Saturday, September 13th for a fun, energizing 60-minute outdoor yoga class (with DJ Maddalena!) at the top of the Art Museum steps to support Legacy of Hope and their mission to help Philly cancer patients in crisis. This class, taught by Josie Rosa Gatlin, is a part of PHL24 (www.PHL24.life), a 24 hour stair climb where 30 gritty athletes will climb the Art Museum steps all day and all night to raise funds for cancer patients in the Philadelphia area.

Join us every Tuesday for our signature power yoga flow at the Francisville Pool! Bring your friends and family to join in on the fun, and take a dip to cool off after class! Class is from 7-7:45PM followed by a private swim for yoga participants from 7:45-8PM.
Open to anyone and everyone for $15!!
