Intro to Pranayama

  • The Performance Garage 1515 Brandywine Street Philadelphia, PA, 19130 United States (map)

This grounded, experiential workshop is designed to help you understand the yogic breath as both a physical technique and inner teacher. You’ll begin with simple breath-awareness practices to tune into the sensations, qualities, and movement of your own breathing, then explore three-dimensional breath, full yogic breath, and accessible introductory pranayama. From there, we’ll look at the deeper framework behind these practices, what the yogic tradition means by prana and how breath relates to the koshas and nadis.

This workshop will show you how breathwork can serve as a doorway into presence, clarity, and inner steadiness. You will leave with a richer understanding of the breath’s role in yoga and a set of simple, powerful techniques you can return to every day.

This workshop is part of our 200-Hour Teacher Training and is designed for yoga teachers or anyone who is interested in expanding their yoga knowledge and skillset.
